Hey guys!! Was just wondering what the price of food etc is like in borovets arm and if anyone has a kind of average on how much they spent on such during a week there!? Thanks
Depends on what you eat and how much you drink. Probably you need about 20lv p/person for lunch assuming you have a burger and chips and a drink, maybe 25lv. That should cover you up the mountain. I'd guess it would be similar in Borovets for a one course evening meal but if you go into Samakov town it will be considerably less. If you choose to frequent the girlie bars then I guess you will spend more money than if you just go out for a beer and many of the bars will have a happy hour which ...

The exchange rate is approx. 2.4-2.5 lv to the £ in the UK but you can probably get a bit better than that in resort at one of the banks or a cash machine.
We would expect to spend around 50 levs on a meal for two. Resort restaurants are much dearer than those in Samokov etc, however if you do not have your own transport the travel cost would offset the extra.
I have an apartment and eat out 50% of the time, but make breakfast etc at "home" ,doing my shopping at the T mart in Samakov rather than the small supermarkets in the resort. The T mart is probably slightly cheaper on most items then a UK supermarket.

Another cost is the inevitable teas and hot chocolates, even though they are only around 3 or 4 over a week it adds up!
Agree with Karen pretty much but if there are more than one of you sharing the costs for the taxi will make a trip to Samakov town viable or there is the bus. I usually use the supermarket called Bila in Samakov and the cash point there gives a very good exchange rate. Also if eating in Samakov town and in some cases in the resort, some of the dishes are large enough to be shared, the 'sacs' and often the 'swords' can be shared and the potatos ordered separately and a course (in Bulgaria) ...

What exactly do you mean? What different village are you going to go to? You won't be going anywhere else on Skis and Samakov is a town. Borovets is made up of Old Borovets and the ski area each within walking distance of each other. There is really nowhere else to visit. everything you need can be found in resort just a little ...

emjay is correct, but suppose you did go to another village such as Bel iskar (although I am only aware of one restaurant there),then you could always book a taxi back. There is always a long line of them in the main street at Borovets and the same driver who delivered you would probably come back and collect you,or,any ...

You are right Karen, if you tell the driver you want him take you back to Borovets he will give you his telephone number and just give him a call when you are ready.
They normally ask you to give them about 15 minutes to get to you. You can give them an idea of when you think you will be ready when he drops you off but they are very flexible.
