Food shopping

Are there many food shops around Borovets, we are coming out 12th March and staying in the Flora apartments?

there are several small shops in Borovets but they have a pretty bad selection and the prices are very inflated. Certainly you will not get fresh produce in them if you are looking for that. The best thing to do is stop in Samokov town on the way. The are 2 supermarkets (called Billa and TMarket) on the street that you will drive through in Samokov enroute to Borovets. Billa is probably slightly better for fresh produce but both will provide all you need for your holiday.

Thanks for the info, we are arriving very late at night so wont be able to stop anywhere..

I think all we really need is bread, pasta, cheese and maybe some sort of meat as we will prob eat out at least 3 - 4 times so its just for easy meals and breakfast.

i believe you can get a bus out side the hotel samokov for 2 lev which takes you to samokov.

verity ive been 5 times and never into samokov, however kas recomends eating there at half the price of borovets.

samokov is not really worth it for clothes shopping etc althought the new Samokov Mall is not bad. However it is excellent for grocery shopping or for eating out. there are several nice restaurants and prices are about half the price in Borovets
