Free kids places

I'm trying to plan next years hols but are 5 of us including 3 kids. I see free kids places advertised but any time I get a quote, the kids prices are reduced but I can't seem to get a free place. When is the best time to book to take advantage of this ?
I know that I will have to pay for 4 adults although 1 is a child, but the free place more than makes up for the child discounts

Any ideas?

We manged to get a free child place this time last year to the Hotel Rila in Borovets in early March from Balkan Holidays, but we had to fly to Plovdiv, which is a slightly longer transfer time than from Sofia, but it was ok.

We had a great time, just about to book again for January '07 about 30 of us in total.

I am a bit worried about the ski kindergarten. I read a review that said the toilets weren't suitable for children. I went to Pamporovo a couple of years ago without the wee one. She'll be five when I take her in Jan, does anyone know what the facilities are like for the kids/ recommendations?

the toilets are fine, they look quite new. they don't do very much skiing however in kindergarden, perhaps 45mins in the morning. i was disappointed with that. Overall the level of care was good i felt

Hi we have booked for next year for Borovets, usually go with Balkan but they have no free child places for Borovets. Try first choice ski, we managed to get three free child places (3 families) and a discount for booking on the internet. It was the cheapest I could find.
