Freeride in Bansko

Hi dudes,

how about freeriding in Bansko? Are there some runs comparable to the alps? When is the best time to go to Bansko?

Cheers

Hi,

Best time is feb, by freeriding do you mean off piste. If yes there is some good off piste

if you go to the top of the mountain in the lift with a cover and while on the lift look right, they are lots of coulouirs (don't know if thats spelt right) eventually you should end up on the road to vihrin if you go downhill (will require skiing some flat stuff) you end up halfway down the tomba. if you go to the top of the mountain in the lift with a cover and while on the lift look right, they are lots of coulouirs (don't know if thats spelt right) eventually you should end up on the road to vihrin if you go downhill (will require skiing some flat stuff) you end up halfway down the tomba. (I have some photo's taken in june last year which shows the coulouirs really well but I need an email address if you want me to send them)

Another place which is quite popular is the bowl (which is between the blue and red runs) when looking at a piste map the right hand side is steeper than the left

sorry don't know how it compares to the alps (this covers so many resorts) and didn't ski when I want to the alps!!!!
Only learnt since I came to bansko to live

Hope this helps

Joy
