Hi All,
We've just returned from a very good week in Pamporovo. From what I've heard they have had very little snow since mid January and yet most of the runs were open and the skiing was great. So I have to say well done everyone involved with keeping the pistes in good shape. We hired our skis at Steve's Ski School and they were great and couldn't have been more helpful. Unfortunately my son fell on the first day and pulled a muscle in his groin and couldn't ski for the rest of the week ...
Hi All,
We've just returned from a very good week in Pamporovo. From what I've heard they have had very little snow since mid January and yet most of the runs were open and the skiing was great. So I have to say well done everyone involved with keeping the pistes in good shape. We hired our skis at Steve's Ski School and they were great and couldn't have been more helpful. Unfortunately my son fell on the first day and pulled a muscle in his groin and couldn't ski for the rest of the week but the other kids had lessons from Stoyan and had a fantastic time. That was the first time I had seen the new 6 man lift and the new blue run which I think is a great addition to the resort.
We ate in several places and all of them were great, the Lodge at the top and Peter's bar were the favoured two. I thought the Spider restaurant was very expensive compared to the rest.
We went bowling in the Grand Monastery 60 levs for all 8 of us including a bottle of Johnny Walkers! Couldn't beat it with a big stick.
All in all a great holiday.
I intended to meet up with some of you from this forum but due to the injury to my son I didn't make! Maybe another year?
Thanks to Kas who recommended Balkan PMS for the transfer from Sofia everything went like clockwork.
Regards,
Jim.
Hi Jim, Glad to hear you had a good time. Did you stop in the Grand? If so, how's it looking, have there been any additions or improvements over the last year or two??
Steve
Hi Stevie,
Yes we stayed in Monastery 3 beside the Grand Monastery. It looks really well, but like Monastery 3 it was a bit quiet. They have a great bowling alley and swimming pool, although it was 19 degrees when we were there and so too cold to swim in, and a spa with sauna and turkish bath etc.
We really enjoyed ourselves it would just be nice for the resort if there were more people there using the facilities.
Jim.
