Just been to Sheffield on business and managed to pop into Decathlon. They have a couple of good deals on - the best one by far is a 'total ski kit'.....SALOMON BOOTS / ROSSIGNOL CARVERS & BINDINGS / POLES / SKI BAG and BOOT BAG ...the full lot for £189!! (think separately it adds up to over £250) so worth a punt? I just bought the boots for £54 (original selling price £134). Lots of sizes available so that helps.
I used to live a mile away from the Nottingham Decathlon, you can also get some real bargains on ski / boardware as well as long as your not too bothered about the brand name.
For boarders Decathlon are selling some great jackets which seem to be as good a spec as say Burton Ronin stuff for around £50 - £60. Designs are good too.
Does anyone know if there is a Decathlon in Newcastle, unfortunately they haven't reached Scotland yet. When I've used them in France they've been great.
Nowt in the Northeast I'm afraid - The nearest one for yourself will be Sheffield I'm afraid.
I agree - they are a great sports store ie a proper one - not just full of designer gear ( I also ended up splashing out on a new pair of bike shoes...got a bit carried away!)
Thats a shame I'm down in Newcastle for the weekend for the Newcastle - Liverpool match. I was in JJB (I wouldn't credit them with the name sports) the other week looking for Squash Balls, the assistant looked at me as if I had two heads when I asked.
