Gatwick Runway closure

Hi all,

Just been looking at the Gatwick website as we are flying from there tomorrow and the runway is currently closed due to the snow we have had! In Cambridge and the moment and my school (I'm a teacher) has been closed today cos of the snow - had between 10-15cm over night, roads are dire!!! The forecast is due for more snow later today!!!! Hoping that it won't affect our flights too much tomorrow but I would expect delays if you are travelling today or tomorrow!!!! booooooooo

Apparently unite union officials and BA cabin crew have been buying up thousands of snow machines in order to close down the airports, ha ha

Amazing how so little snow can have terrible effects, remember sitting in Manchester Airport 5 years ago on Boxing Day, 1 inch of snow on Christmas Day froze and caused all sorts of issues. Made a connecting flight in Frankfurt with minutes to spare after a 5 hour delay.
