what is all this talk of gangsters, i dont know.
read the press today.........and thats here in england where we live!
i guess im saying calm down peps , go to bulgaria , and enjoy.
there is no problems with pimps pros or gangsters in borovets , just in the minds of the people in england who worry too much.
if you have kids and your asking me "will my kids see pros in bars" well maybe , but then what are you doing taking your kids in bars??? seems like theres iresponsible parents on here never mind the bulgarians !!!

I think the problem is Kel, that people are quite rightly worried that they/their family might bump into something unsavoury. Whether thats at home, or on holiday is immaterial. People have posted comments on here about various things, and for the first time, these people are thinking "my god, what are we letting ourselves in for"?. If it was a local paper that had made the statement, they would be familiar with the situation, because it's not, they quite rightly start to worry. Once they go and see for themselves, they can make their own judgements based on their own experience. Most come back and post what a great time they've had.

There really is nothing to worry about. go see for yourselves.

I fully understand what you are saying , but these people could run into this sort of thing anywhere in the world , including England, yet they remark on other places as if Bulgaria is the only place with crime, do they also think there are no mafia in Italy!! do they also beleive there are no pros in France ,yet , im sure all those trendy resorts dont have people writing on forums like this saying " oh are we going to get hurt by gangsters" or " are my kids going to see pros "
people really need to understand they are going to somewhere diffrent and this experience could be really enjoyable they need get real and use a little common sense, sorry if i sound abrupt but i dont understand all the fuss.
But one thing i will say is im going to borovets 25th jan , 1 week , and im am so looking forward to it .so its fingers crossed for the snow as thats all you need to concern yourself with .

I took my kids, did not worry if I saw a pro or a gangster, so what if we did its part of life and i would tell the kids what they were. you travel to differant cultures to experience that, if people are worried (and there is no reason whatsoever to be so), stay at home and ski Scotland (now thats a real culture shock! as far as the skiing is concerned in relation to Europe!).
As it happened the kids saw neither gangsters or pros, didnt even comment on the likes of the playboy club, after all at 7 and 5 its just another pub name!
