Bulgaria Ski discussion board

Well what can i say apart from Bulgaria (Borovets) is my new fave place. FANTASTIC snow, although the first day woz a bit dodgy. They don't groom the slopes as much as what they should!

I had planned to ski pretty much the full holiday but only made it out for about 2 whole days, tummy bug, and towards the end of the week I came down with a HELLUVA flu and turned green at one point, almost collapsed and couldnt eat for 3 days (lost 1/2 STONE!!! and im already a skinny mo-fo). So anyone whos going i strongly advise, take throat sweetys, pain killers and migraine tablets and maybe even vitamins.

I advise anyone who does go to speak to Turbo Bobby who mostly hangs in Francos and get him to make you a ski/boarding video. He really does a fantastic job! As you'll see when i post the video somewhere

We stayed at the Breza, which despite its crap food (first nights food woz delish) had a GREAT atmos. My mates and i had spoken about it, given the choice would you stay at the Rila or Breza if it was the same price? we all came to the conclusion of Breza Rooms were homely and warm, often too warm and Zacks Bar... need i say more? just a word of advice if zack wants to clear the bar, leave otherwise you will end up leaving soaking... he threw bottles of water over us

Anyone whos in Borovets at the moment i thinks gonna be dissapointed coz the snow conditions were awful when we were leaving, rained like hell and everything melted. It woz the first time we ever saw concrete!!!

On the side of strip clubs, go go girls (the one with the huge ass and legs sticking out) is the cheapest. I ended up hating the strip joints coz it messes with your head being under constant pressure pay for dances, lol.

Happy Duck is also a pretty cool place, seen Vicky in their... got a free shot The pub itself has a pretty indy vibe to it, and Bella the waitress is adoreable. Definitely a decent pub to add to your "to go" list

Hope my ramblings make some sort of sense and use to anyone who has still to go to Boro..... and if anyone has any bone crushing accidents before going and have no use for their ticket i'll take it

O and beware of pick-pockets outside the gondola (or gonjilar as the english pronounce it), basically the place where the gypsies sell the photos that got taken on the mountain is pretty busy and i felt a hand tryin to get into my pocket

Finally.... i gave into the pressure and bought................... the dreaded bells (not for me of course for my family, haha).
