Does anyone know what the gondola queues are like in Bansko over the xmas period.
We have been to Bansko a few times and seen good and bad queues, but never been at this time of year.
Its going to be busy, especially if we have snow like last Christmas... the queues will be there, for sure, the length ?? hopefully they will run the buses like last season, and the management of the filling of cars was improved last season as well... options ? get up very early and stand in line, wait till mid morning, get a lift to Challin Valog and get the chair to mid-station, or get a lift all the way up (fun on the snow)...
queues at xmas in Bulgaria is always a problem.
everytime it is getting nasty going up at AM.
Unless you are prepared to sacrifize valuable holiday time and stand early and be p[repared for few hours on your feet before you enter the Gondola.
fact of life I am afraid.
If you want less of a queue - visit Bulgarian resort at a different time avoiding Xmas, New year up to 10th an half-term period in Feb and beginning of March when in BG there is holiday)

and the weeks of some competitions(this and next year though there are none to speak of so no problem with closures of chunks of the mountain for racers )
al are you mikey???? the majority of that post is cobblers!!! certainly from the perspective of Borovets, half term is a problem but with the amount of lifts accessing slopes you dont need to queue for hours at all!! as for comps, as ive been to the last 4 FIS childrens comps in boro ive not noticed a problem with accessing the mountain then either, otherwise a very good post.....
The buses are run by Ulen, 10 of them, and they start from the base of the gondola, they are free if you have a lift pass.. Taxi will cost you around 60lv.. Snow at Christmas, in the hands of the gods mate, but we have 220 + snow cannons so normally no problem skiing
We do private transfers to miss the queues if they are really busy.... pre-booking is advised though especially around this time of year.
We can take up to 8people per bus. I will email with price or just look on the website mate.
The other way is to get up at gondola for 8am if you to be first on the snow in a morning. I know you will have lessons first few days but doesnt mean you cannot go up early and have a play first.
Queues are busy in any ski resort xmas/new year ...

Queues are busy in any ski resort xmas/new year why should Bulgaria be any different AL?? And same for world cup competitions. Steve queued in France 5hrs to get up to see the world cup and gave in in the end..... Bansko was brilliant getting people up the mountain for the comps and it was not as busy as people make out. It was less busy than a normal half term as people stayed away.
