Grand Arena, Bansko

Going to the Kempinski Grand Arena in Bansko on 25th Feb. Went to Borovets for the last 2 years and really enjoyed it. Anybody got any feedback on either the Grand Arena or how Bansko compares with Borovets?

re: Grand Arena, Bansko

Kemprinski Grand Arena is new for this season but looks superb so doubt you will have anything to worry about there.

Bansko itself is lovely with a superb ski area and a charming traditional town. You will have the Happy End bar on your doorstep. The Lion Bar opposite the Strazhite Hotel is very popular too as it has Ski Sports. Also Kafe Parfe in the town (Red Bull tables outside) for a more local bar and cheaper prices although nothing in Bansko is expensive.

Hope this helps ...

re: Grand Arena, Bansko

The hotel is fabulous I stayed there at Christmas. Proper 5* service and facilities but at 5 * for Bulgaria prices.

Right next to the gondola and about 5 - 10 mins walk to the bars / mehanas.

Taxi costs about 2 lev though if snowing or back up the hill about 6 lev !!!

anything you want to know just ask in a new thread 'cos I am fed up of going backwards if you know what I mean.
