Got back yesterday from our second holiday in Pamps. Went with Balkan, staying at the Rhodopi Home in Chepelare, as we did last time. Goood hotel, though a pity they've switched from a menu to a buffet for evening meals. Bar prices still good, though a tad up on last year, at 2.50 Lev for a 500ml Zagorka (or 3 lev for a Tuborg)
We ate twice at the nearby Amore italian restaurant. Excellent food, and a three course meal, with drinks for abour 35 lev for 2 (and Zagorka ar 1,49 ...

Skied at Pamps, from ski station 2. Ski intructor called Kosta, think it's his first year there. Didn't speak very good English, so tended to be teaching by demonstration, rather than instruction.
Snow brilliant! Good coverage everywhere, and it snowed Weds pm, Thurs pm, all day Friday and a big dump on Saturday, with arctic -16 temperatures at the top.
Went up on the 3 man lift Friday morning, for a 'warm up' green run down before going on to bigger and better things. Ski-ing across from the lift to the start of the green run, another skier and I collided heavily. Picked myself up, got the skis back on, and carried on all the way down, with a very sore shoulder.
Rode the lift back up, by then in total agony. Gave up and came back down (and some s*d stole my ski poles while I was in the loo!). Made it to the ski depot with the invaluable assistance of Mark who was a 100% diamond geezer.
Taken by skidoo to the doctors at mid-station where a dislocated shoulder was diagnosed. A local aneasthetic later and it was popped back in. Strapped up like a mummy, and off work for 3 weeks.....and no ski-ing on a quiet Saturday in fabulous conditions!!!!!
Sancho, sorry for your injury, I too was taken out by novice 3rd week skier, out of control hit me at speed from behind, broke his nose on my helmet and his arm very badly, along with neck and back injury, unfortunately for me he did 'rotator cuff' damage, shoulder muscles and bit of concussion to me, I am now considering a back protector, do you think back protection might have saved your shoulder?
hey man, that sucks, i too know what its like, but not as bad
It was both mine and this other guys problem, he fell over infront of me on a very ICY path in boro, most people will knwo what one im on about, and as he fell, i tried getting round him and slipped of the side of the mountain into some trees, twisted my ankle a bit, but it was lucky me and my mate had walkie-talkies or else he probs would know i was there.
THAT is a must, always take walkie talkies...good ones like ours you ...
