I'm heading over to Bulgaria with a group of school students on Sunday. We have booked Pamporovo. The conditions for skiing seem dreadful. We are currently trying to put an alternative itinerary together for next week. i.e. day trip to Sofia shopping, games, etc.
Can someone help me out with a few things.
Is there a nursery slope still in operation? (that would take care of beginners for a day or two)
Will there be any snow left by Sunday on the mountain?

You can all appreciate that rambling through the forest is only an option for a day or two.
Any suggestions.
Thanks
earlier post suggested a trip to the local orphanage
an education for your kids and appreciated by theirs
even earlier posts said to buy pencils etc in Bulgaria cos cheaper there and take them with you.
try searching and you will find the old posts

Have a good time
sofia is 4 hours from pamps. plovdiv is 2 and is the second largest city in Bulgaria. Old town has an ampitheatre. a visit to smolyan (i think that is right) is possible as well. the perelik has a six lane bowling alley but it is expensive. the mountains are beautiful so a walk could be an option. although don't give up hope yet. the top of the mountain did have enough snow. chepalare is a nearby town. not sure what is there but people say it is a good small bulgarian town. there ...

Paul, I do not want to seem to be a scaremonger, but I visit orphanages in Bulgaria twice a year and have done so for past nine years, I have to have, at least the following injections. Tetanus, Typhoid, Hepatitus, the latter has been rife in several Roma villages during the past year and when you think upwards of 60% of children in the orphanages are from this background.
