HELP on booking first snowboarding holiday.

Hi Everyone

My gf and I were hoping to book a snowboarding holiday to Rila Hotel this February. Just looking for booking the Rila Hotel (due to convenience as its so close to the slopes and a friend has recommended it..however, it does look pretty good aswell). Also, need to book flights, snowboard hire (as we havent got our own snowboard and bindings) and a lift pass.

Any help I could get on where would be the best places to book....whether its best to book flights and hotel ...
Hi Everyone

Also, need to book flights, snowboard hire (as we havent got our own snowboard and bindings) and a lift pass.

Any help I could get on where would be the best places to book....whether its best to book flights and hotel independently....whether to book it as a package....etc. Completely clueless if I'm honest so any help would be very welcome Very Happy.

Thanks Guys
Kindest Regards
Craig

re: HELP on booking first snowboarding holiday.

Start by checking companies offering Boro, ideally the Rila, but check out other hotels as well. These companies normally offer discounted hire and pass packages... Add it all up, and then to compare, start to look at flights, include a transfer, and then add your accomodation... Hire will vary in resort, often a deal can be found, and the lift pass will be fixed... Quite often the tour company will come out on top..

re: HELP on booking first snowboarding holiday.

Hi Craig,

It really depends on when in February etc. Some hotels don't increase their rates even at peak times, even though tour operators do... We have prices for most of the 3 star hotels and the difference from week to week is negligible compared to operators brochures. If you ask on here, most of the Boro regulars now book independently as they have found cheaper ways to do it, newbies or people who just want the convenience tend to book with tour operators.

We are based in Borovets so if we can help at all then click on my name and send me an email.

re: HELP on booking first snowboarding holiday.

Thanks for all the help guys. The cheapest I can find at present is £650 at Rila Hotel for 7 nights, snowboard hire, lift pass and flights from Bristol 23rd Feb (as my gf works term time and we can only go for this week).

Still seems a bit steep at present but was wondering what you guys thought?

re: HELP on booking first snowboarding holiday.

Would look at other hotels if thats their price. Also are you completely new to snowboarding so would a beginners package do. Iglika palace would work out a lot cheaper and is a good hotel right next to the rila. Also where are you flying from.

I think I'll check out the Iglika then.....was hoping to fly from Bristol as I live in South Wales, however, Birmingham would only be a 2 and half hour drive on relatively traffic free roads. Thanks for all the help guys.

re: HELP on booking first snowboarding holiday.

Well if you can only go in half term that £650 for the Rila looks about right. There are cheaper hotels and the Iglika is one of those but many of the other hotels like the Iglika are smaller and a lot of people will have booked for that week by now so availability may be short. It looks like you may be booking a package and this is not the cheapest way to do it. Also if you are have boarding school it tends to be for only 3 days so be careful if you need a school. Ceratinly if you write to Kas and Bobby, they can help you and Bobby knows a bit about boarding too
