Bulgaria Ski discussion board

I have composed this little prose in the hope that it will be adopted by new (and existing) travellers to Bulgaria.

As regular posters will know King Blade has always tried to offer honest and useful advice to fellow skiers and boarders and I think now is a good time to offer reflections on my personal take on Bulgaria ski resorts.

First :
Suspend your understanding of what you would consider to be ‘normal’ by UK standards….face it – not everything in the UK is world-beating and can be used as a yardstick against other countries.
Second :
Enjoy the wonderful experience of another country and culture – YES you are primarily there to ski but while you are there – why not scratch the surface and find out a little bit more about Bulgaria and its traditions and cultures.
Third :
Accept that (just like the UK) not everyone is perfect!! Not every Bulgarian will welcome you with open arms – just like there are Brits who are not overwhelmed to welcome visitors to the UK!! But most people are proud that you have travelled so far to visit their country!
Fourth :
Bulgaria is DEVELOPING as a country – this is important – they have had one hell of a time in their history and have done an amazing job to get where they are today. They are learning fast – so give a little slack now and then!
Fifth :
Your ‘resort reports’ are very important to people on this board – opinions and updates on the weather/slopes are invaluable BUT try and stay objective and DO NOT generalise – you wouldn’t clump all Brits together so try not to do it with Bulgarians.
