Hi Folks, i am coming over for a week and would like to know how much money to bring with me. My hotel is halfboard. The other question is if i need to change any money where is the best place to do it.
Not been to Bulgaria yet but have used my cashpoint card in a couple of dozen countries on 4 continents and it has always given me rates at worst matching but usually beating the best rates on offer in country. Only had a problem once, in Brussels, but judging by the multilingual swearing going on in the atm lobby the whole cash network had gone into meltdown! I was in Boro 2 weeks ago with the boss and spent about £500....
Money exchange.... take good/new ish £'s and change in Crown Booths... in Boro the best rate was in the bank at the Samokov hotel which is situated in the entrance of the basement.
Do watch the booths (non Crown) they give the buy rate ...

Budget for £40 a day and you'll have plenty. You can change your money at you hotel reception or at the banks but NEVER NEVER NEVER with strangers who may approach you to change money. No matter what rate they offer just don't do it or you will be ripped off. Don't bother with travellers cheques as they get a low exchage rate.
