Half Term Transportation this Sunday Night 12/02/2012

Hi first time ever ski-ing with family and arrive at Plodviv on Sunday night from Stansted. Just been looking at forecast and heavy snowfall predicted at time of our arrival. Also heard the roof collapsed at Plodviv Airport earlier this week owing to snow. Just wondered if anyone can confirm access to roads to Pamporova are ok and likely to remain open in heavy snow bearing in mind a couple of inches in UK brings country to standstill.

Pamparovo Pete put a post on earlier in the week, think it was titled plovdiv airport closed, but updated that airport was open again and fully operational. Can't comment on road conditions, but sure someone on the board will come back soon with an update, have an awesome time! N

The Roads are being well maintained Alan, we should Have no problems. we are on the same flight as you on sunday so look out for us, 3 snowboarders and 2 skiers, propping up the bar. why not join us on Wednesday at the castle for the forum meet?

Thanks guys for replies -cant wait to get there now and this is great forum for brand new ski tourists like ourselves. Nearest I have got to a mountain in 50 years is the Tamworth Snowdome so looking forward to next weeks holiday more than ever. Hoping with such a prestigious ski event in Pamporova at weekend the roads will be clear come what may-Now off to pack my bags and will pop into the Castle on Wed Arron to defrost and enjoy a sherbet or two''''
