Ok Guys and Gals with my time on these shores rapidly slipping away in just a few short weeks I shall once again grave the slopes of Pamporovo. My thoughts have turned to all the great memories of the old place that I have. So I thought thats not a bad topic (or mars bar!) lets put that out there shall we? lets share our fondest skiing memories. Mine would have to be taking my then 64 year old father skiing for the first time in 2001 with a couple of mates of mine. He had a great time learning to ski and I am ashamed to say also drunk us all under the table! How we marveled at the fact he never had a hangover! The funniest thing was in the White Hart we where all given a shot of tequila my Father having never tried it before downed it in one an pronounced it to be "The most none drink I have ever had!" The rest of us where to hungover to try ours.
My Father was looking foward to going back again but sadly he was killed in a mountain accident shortly after his return 6wks after his 65 birthday Bugger!
My other fave thing is getting up early and being on the slopes when there is very little life around after a snow fall. It is so peacful and relaxing best part of the day.

I have two for you, the first was skiing at 10.30am this new years day with very, very few other people about, sheer bliss - worked wonders for the hangover .
The second was the day after and the look on the faces of the rest of my group and my instructor (denko) as my stretcher was lifted onto the back of the snowplough at the top of the green/blue run, it managed to take the pain away from my knee momentarily so was appreciated. Still off work with torn cruciate ligaments but hope to be back in pamps in the winter
