Going out Feb 7th to Borovets for a week of boarding. Was looking to maybe hire out a headcam to video record our shenanigans on the slopes or buy one, can anyone recommend?
re: Head Cam's - Poss to rent / best place to buy?
Oregon Scientific sell a range of these and some of the older ones are on e-bay. Top of the range new ATC5K go for about £140 so I reckon the older models are probably only £25-£50 to buy. Guessing tho.

Hi
Have a look on this website if you fancy buying a cam. I quite like the ATC3K. These are the best prices that I've found but maybe I'm wrong. Worth a look though.

re: Head Cam's - Posse to rent / best place to buy?
Just got the ATC5K. Nice camera although i haven't had it up a mountain yet. (4 weeks). Worth mentioning that you'll probably need a helmet to attach the camera to. The helmet is a very sensible investment though and i was going to get one even without the camera. Actually looks ok on too which is good cause some people would rather crash into a tree at 50mph with a wooly hat on than risk looking slightly less fashionable!

most of the cheaper cams are pretty poor quality
get a seperate cam with ccd lense
the stand alone that dog cam do is good
or try the archos headcam with a archos 405 with a 16gb sd card, this is what i use
dont use one that has a hard drive as these fail for both snowboarding and mountain biking

just got back from Chamonix and the helmet mounting on my ATC5K was OK but you have to get it done up very tight to stop wobble. GOt some good video and it was handy being able to review the stuff you've done on the built in screen and delete it if it was rubbish (down to my boarding not the camera!)
