Head Injuries

It doesn't just happen on the Green Run. I broke my wrist on Sunday while getting off the ski lift, the guy behind me fell off aswell and the seat behind him came round before he could get out of the way and wacked him in the head so hard he was in a daze.

I was on a ski lift in Bansko the other week and an instructor had two pupils fall on her and snap her leg. She didn't half holler....

I have always been surprised at how many people let their children ski without helmets (and ride bikes at home for that matter). In the Aosta Vally in Italy there is a 1000 euro fine for the parent and/or instructor if anyone under 16 is not wearing one. You never see kids without helmets there as it has become the norm.

Hopefully the recent tragic accident will have a positive effect of encouraging more people to wear a lid.
