Helmet hire

Hello!!!!

Me and a group of mates (4 lads) are heading out to Borovets in January 2010, all boarding for the first time, can’t wait!!! We’ve decided helmets are going to be a must and was wondering if it is possible to hire them in the resort?? if so how much is it?? We’ve already sorted out our board and boot hire through the travel agents and it doesn’t say helmets are included.
If we can’t hire them is it cheaper to buy out there than in England??

re: Helmet hire

I know that Decathlon do them fairly cheap. TK Maxx also sell helmets from time to time at a good price. other than that just Google and you will find a number of good deals. As long as the hemet is CE marked you should be fine.

TK Maxx havent any in at the min although its still early. Have got other ski stuff in. worth popping in on regular basis to see when they come in.

re: Helmet hire

If you feel you need helmets - then why risk hiring one that might be faulty or damaged?

They are inexpensive to buy and at least then you can be sure that you have one that will serve it's purpose.

Just make sure it carries a British Standard Safety mark.

re: Helmet hire

In Borovets itself, there are lots of helmets for sale in the shops, but start at around 45 leva.....better to buy something in your home town.
You can hire helmets in Borovets at aprox. 5 lev per day.

Last season, or the season before that?... Aldi's (In the UK) were selling them for about 10 pounds. Brand new and good quality.

re: Helmet hire

I look at helmets a bit like I look at toilet paper - its not an area to be seeking to save money

re: Helmet hire

Thanks everyone,

as I thought better to buy one over here than hire out there then at least we will know the quality and history of the helmet. I'll pass the message on to the lads. Booze Booze Booze Booze
