Help!

Hi!

We want to book a ski holiday for around Jan 6th next year. 7 of us, 2 who have skied before, the rest haven't so we want to make it a great experience for those who haven''t skied before and have some snow!! Which is best resort? We liked the idea of Boro but looking at snow record this Jan not great. Is Bansko a better choice? Is there more of chance of snow there or should we just book another country?

Any help greatly appreciated!

re: Help!

All in the hands of the gods, even in other countries... If anywhere says it is snowsure its lying...
Yes, you can go very high, this may reduce the possibility of no snow, but it has its own problems, incredibly cold, white outs, ice etc...
If you are deciding on Bulgaria from a financial point of view, Bansko has the best set-up for snow making, and this at least will give you a base to ski on. It would be lovely to say...`o yeh, there will be loads of snow next Jan'... there could be, ...

re: Help!

Late jan is a thought, but find out about events being held here, its Womans World Cup next season...
Personally i like March, longer days, a bit more sunshine, and we have normally had snow by then Wink
It can get a little slushy in the afternoon in late March, but not normally a problem...

re: Help!

Hi Milly,
asking my christal ball it says: There will be enough snow next January.
Nobody can predict the snow conditions of the next year. Last year we had some 200 cm on top of the Markudjik in the beginning of February.
We are going to spend our 15th winter week in Borovets and only one year failed.
