Help with choosing a board

Can any help me with buying my first board?

there are some good discounts about at the moment but I have been offered a 164 Salamon Ace board by one shop and a Palmer Honeycircle 158 at another shop. Both shops tell me there board is ideal for me. Based on the following can anyone advise what sort of size board I should go for?

I did 1 weeks boarding in Borovets this year and am looking to do 4 weeks boarding within the next 12 months. Just Mountain riding (no plans for parks yet) ...

Gidday Darren. Sounds correct Darren. The board should come up between your chin and the top of your nose so I would go for the 164 but if you think you'd be more into the freestyle riding the 158 will be easier to throw around.

re: Help with choosing a board

Hi

My husband is a boarder and has been for the last few years... he's looking into getting another board and I know he is going with a Palmer.

Don't know about the Salamon board but he has been reading out all the info for the various Palmer boards and my money is with them.

Not much help I know but hope it helps a little.

Most of all ejnoy Very Happy

I used to Ski but as soon as I took a 1hr snowboard taster that was it. I'm more suited to boarding. Razz

Im not into going on the Park yet. Do you think the 158 will be alright for all mountain. I beleive the 164 would be harder to manouvre.

the problem is I prefer the Palmer Honeycircle but they have only got it in 158.

Yes the 158 will be fine and as you say it will be easier to manouvre. It may also be a better length if you're new to the sport and as Nicola says Palmer have a very good reputation.

Happy riding Darren.
