Going to Borovets this Saturday - haven't got any passes, lessons or ski's arrnaged, anyone been before and rented while your out there, or know of anywhere we could hire last minute?re: Hire Skies before or when we get there?
Yes, we have. We don't tend to ski all day and quite often get a half day pass.....we know the people who hire the kit but assume you would be ok to hire - problem is, if it's very busy, not sure what choice you would have - the ski packs booked before you go do tend to work out cheaper in the long run....We get our stuff from Hunters (down past the Gondola on opposite side..) and the passes from the Gondola station (1/2 price after 12 noon)re: Hire Skies before or when we get there?
hi there we have just got back from boro on sat,this was our second visit and we have never booked here in the uk,i went next door to the white magic (you wont miss this bar)and booked my skies,boots and poles for £6 for the day so if i were you just get them there then when its time to go and get a lift pass then you can get a pass for £10 for half a day hope this helps you will have a brill time its excellent....

First thing - try and get your passes before you go. Call your tour operator (Inghams? Balkan?) and they should be able to sort this out even at this late stage. It's much cheaper that way.
As for hire you'll be fine. In fact I think its much better to sort out your own gear because you can find a small shop where you won't spend half the morning queueing. last few years I went to boro (I was in pamps last year) I used the shop across the road from the Samokov Hotel and next ...

White Magic excellent for hiring stuff - and the owner's a pretty good instructor aswell if you want some previate lessons
