Hi guys,
I have a newbie question, so I apologise for my lack of knowledge
My husband and I are going to Bansko for our first ever snowboarding trip, we have booked a tuition package that includes hire.
I wondered if any one knows where you pick the equipment up from and whether you can keep it for the week or have to return it each day? Any other tips would be appreciated.
Carla
P.S It's not snowing in Leicester
Normally the hire gear has to be returned to the depot or shop at the end of the day, unless they shut before you get back from night skiing / boarding. I havnt done Bansko but Pamps we left the gear a the depot at the slope n got the bus back to the hotel and Boro has a few depots. We are at the Flora this year and dispite some posters disagreement we can ski back, The rental shop Albena ski is underneath, The boss Emil is Fab and the gear is warm and dry the next day... They will also ...

They will also correct any problems like waxing and grinding etc... so it isnt so bad... But it depends if you have to bus it back do you want to lug the equipment back and forth??
Either way i know you will have a fab time..... Enjoy

Thanx Pimp, according to the hotel the main gondola is "a five minute walk" but we'll see!
My only concern is that i have read a lot of reviews saying the hire places have enormous queues and people were late for the lessons or even missed them cos they had to queue for 1 hour+
Hope thats not the case

getting up a bit earlier normally beats the rush however its normally day 1 the problems are when everyone wants fitting out... and the instructors are often flexible with start times... agree with the group a next day start time, the instructor will know when the busy times are and can advise the best way to miss that morning cram to get up top... a late start may just save you from the jossel at the gondola and not lose any time on that loverly white stuff i have just had delivered for you ...

when we were in bansko the choice was yours you either kept it or you could drop it off everynight we kept ours as we liked to get on the slopes early.
No but know someone who has they said it was a fantastic hotel, with a fab breakfast but they dont start serving until 8, they have an out door hot tub as well. We are staying at hotel tanne across the road but not until march we only choice this hotel over yours as it was b and b we didnt want half board as the food at night which is in the cost of your hol is never very good so we perfer to eat in the mahenas as they are very good and cheap.
