Home safe and sound from Borovets

Sorry I didn't get to do any postings the last few days - there's only the one internet machine at the Samokov, and everytime I went there, it was busy so I couldn't do anything. Confused

Had a great last few days on the holiday, the massages continued every night and my skiing has definitely improved - in fact, I even managed to do the easy red at the top of the gondola without falling down - that's a major achievement for me. Razz

The snow was certainly melting by the time we left yesterday - the black slope over by the new four man chair was bare in a large number of places and outside the Rila you could go waterskiing, rather than snow skiing. A large number of the ski instructors have now finished for the season, even though it's been extended for two weeks due to Easter this weekend. The gondola was closed after the mid station on Friday due to the high winds so most beginners were left with that 6km run through the trees.

One special thank you - to the man who crashed into me on the first 10 metres of that run on Friday morning cos he wasn't watching that I was going down very carefully with my instructor - thanks mate - you bashed into me so hard you broke my watch and it can't be fixed!!! Next time, watch where you are going and look what others are doing. First rule of skiing... Sad

I've had a fantastic holiday, am really glad I went, but am glad to be home, and am definitely looking forward to going back to the Iglika in Borovets on Jan 21st 2006

There is a large internet cafe opposite the Samokov hotel with 12 computers, Judith must have missed it.

May be Boro but these internet cafe is hard to find backdoor entry and really expensive, but much faster as these in the Samokov. I use these internet coffee in Samokov town in the Peperuda, 1,50lev a hour and fast.

Glad to hear you had a great holiday Judith.

It sounds as though you had a great time and made some progress. Sorry to hear about your watch. Maybe the chap who crashed into you was as proficient as me on that slope 2 years ago - there are some funny angle up there!!

Maybe more expensive, but easy to find, big bright yellow sign outside. They also offer a better selection of games and a fantastic selection of uptodate movies to watch.
