Nope - Ive only ever used the actual complex run scheme.

Frankly the last few years they have struggled to wash their face. ie. costs v income numbers dont work well at all. Remember you have the annual Maintence fees plus debt interest (or lost savings interest if you bought for cash & are mortgage free in the UK) plus forign exchange fees.
Its certainly not a big earner at all - long term you have the captial appreciation which will happen over a long enough peiod of time purely down ...

Of course the upside is you have yor own place out there (I have two) which we use twice every year really enjoy it and can see us continuing to go back over decades and then when our kids grow up they can have cheap ski and summer holidays there too.

Cleary with hindsight its cheaper to pay for hotels every year over buying the place... and you dont have any restrictions. We never have any holiday brochures or discussions about where else to go - makes it easier to decide but one drawback is you dont see more of the world OR if you do then clearly your not getting the benefit of using your holiday home as much.

Were heading out there again in 10 sleeps and cannot wait. We have been fortunate to have had some amazing holidays to different continents seeing some wonderful things, but now its a great place (expecially in the summer) to just totally chill out really unwind and get a nice tan - summer is hot 30's usually but its not humid which is a godsend.
We have been to Melnik basically the other side to the mountains (med side) and on the same day clear blue sky its the same temp both sides but in Bansko you can walk and laze around a pool with little perspiration, go to Melnik.... open the door the heat hits you you brow and the rest get sweaty very quickly - to the point sweat is dripping and your t shirt is saturated. Nice as that is for a short time I'd much rather the dry heat.
