Arrived home yesterday, after a brilliant week in Bansko, with the good Lord Lewis ( great report, my nobel sire ) & the Failsworth crew.
Snow was plentiful, as was the ale. This was my first visit to Bansko after many happy visits to Pamps.

Fellow posters,
Arrived home yesterday, after a brilliant week in Bansko, with the good Lord Lewis ( great report, my nobel sire ) & the Failsworth crew.
Snow was plentiful, as was the ale. This was my first visit to Bansko after many happy visits to Pamps.
Each and every one of us enjoyed it immensely, and we will most definitely be going back in 2006 ( with more people this time ).
The Strazhite Hotel is a good choice, right in the center of town, near to most bars and only 10 minutes slide to the Gondolas.
I agree with Lord Lewis, that the Bondi Bar was a find. Nice traditional Bulgarian bar with a roaring fire, and incredibly cheap booze. Change out of 1 lev for a cold beer. Nice place to unwind after a long day on the slopes.
The Happy End bar near the Gondola is a bit more lively, with a good band Fridays & Sats. Sir Mustang of Medlock performed his usual ritual of belting out a song with them.
Be careful on the slopes, as they have a ski patrol, that may report the more wreckless of you, as one of our party found out to his expense. A red card was issued on the slope, and his ski pass was confiscated for the day. He was also questioned as to whether he had been drinking. Be warned.
All in all a great time was had by all, and every one going soon will have a top time with the snow conditions we left behind.
I will try and answer any questions, if anybody has any.
