Hi Nige/Jayne

I am going to the Bor on 8 Jan and 11 Mar with wife and son ( aged 9), stayed there last 2 years and we love it there. If you can try to upgrade to a family room (only a few quid more, although the girl last year upgraded us for free) as they are massive with a huge bathroom with big cast iron bath tub, great to fill to the top with load of hot water.

Views from the balcony are stunning. Although rooms are old/basic they are clean and very warm with huge old fashion radiators everywhere, great for drying out damp skiwear. The hotel had a refurb last year but mainly to the main areas, all of the rooms hadn't been done when we were there last March but maybe they have now? The restuarant is nice with a big brick/marble fireplace with huge log fire roaring away. Staff are really nice if you give them the opportunity, last year the chef made my son a birthday cake and they bought it to our table with candles etc. Food is ok just get there early for dinner and its nice and hot. Last year the guy who owns BJ's sent one of his men down who did a Karaoke every night in the restuarant after dinner, which was good fun and meant you didn't have to walk up to the main town for some entertainment every night. There is also a nice bar which is very cheap (large beer 3 lev large Fanta etc 1.50 lev) and had pool table, electronic games etc again all cheap to use. The main hotels and bars are a 300/400 metre walk away up a slight hill, which is no real problem. In the morning the ski bus comes to the hotel first, so empty bus to get on too. We always book with Balkan so the hotel also gives you a free glass of wine or a beer at dinner, but I don't know if this is the same with other tour operators.

All in all a real value for money hotel but don't expect 4 star med hotel facilities and you should'nt be disappointed.

Let me know if you have anymore questions (been goin to Pamps every year since 1989)

re: Hotel BOR Pamps

Hi
Thanks for all the info. We have booked through Balkan and it is our first time skiing. We can't wait. We are going on boxing day. As long as there is hot water and the room is warm we are happy. We don't expect luxuries. We usually go to Greece self catering so we don't expect anything more than there.
