Anyone stayed at the Hotel Baneritsa, Bansko ?15 of us are going in January, do you walk to gondola or get their bus?

It's 15 miles outside bansko so best to get the bus.

Munster,I think you mean banderista? Its a great hotel. Nice bar on ground floor and downstairs a sports bar and they have bands etc.
Its about 15 min walk to the gondola and close to the town. We stayed there about 3 years ago and would go back anytime.

Thanks JoIf we wanted an early start do they have a ski room and does the shuttle bus go regularly

Yes they have big ski room at the side and they have at least one mini bus that goes back and forward all day.Despite Damos answer its actually in a very good position because its by one of the bridges across the river making access to the old town very easy, and they have a road now from the banderista side of the river up to the road bridge by the Royal Bansko and gondola.

we go from 10th - 17th Jan, we went with another family for new year last year, have done Borovets a couple of times, we like them both, boro is good if gondola is busy because you just go to the slope in the village.
If you have not been at new year before be prepared to queue to get on the gondola, it was no problem once we got on the mountain, the run to the village used to get really busy late on.
If you can get out of bed in a morning get to the lift around 8.30 and you wont have ...
