Hotel Breza - Borovets

All, would welcome comment. Is this hotel really as bad as people keep saying.
What is it that is so bad about it? Want to make sure I am prepared for the worse, going with fiancee and 2 kids (10 and 7).

re: Hotel Breza - Borovets

Sibbers,

We stayed at Breza for one night and then "upgraded" to the Samakov.

Most people we arrived with did the same, but some stayed the whole week in the Breza.

It was very easy to switch Hotel.

Might be best to make up your own mind when you're there but take some extra money just in case. It cost us about £250 to change Hotel - 2 adults and 3 children.

Let us know how you get on.

Good Luck.

N.

Thanks.
Did you have to pay cash for the upgrade?
Did you have one room or a couple? Adjoining?

went to the breza 2 years ago, was ok, good location, food ok, nothing special, but edible, and rooms ok, but basic, what more can you expect !

re: Hotel Breza - Borovets

We're staying at Breza for a week from this Saturday (21st), I've heard some bad reports on this forum, but to be honest for the money that you pay and surely from all of the skiing and drinking/eating etc, we just want somewhere to rest our weary heads as I imagine we'll be knackered!!!

4 days to go Very Happy Cool

Pete

see you there! I agree, only need it for the bed and shower (and maybe a couple of meals). Will be spending most of the time at the bar with a (very) large bacardi and coke. Feel free to say hi, we are travelling with Thomson from Gatwick.

Will do indeed Sibbers. I'm 32 and going grey! My fiance is 24 blonde and slim, every day I have to pinch myself!

You will probably see us around the pool table (in the Breza and other establishments) as the lady loves a game of pool and I play league snooker.

Anyway...... Bacardi, Pool, Skiing, Snow, Beer, Food....bring it on. If I dont catch up with you, hope you have a great time.

re: Hotel Breza - Borovets

Sorry to put a damper on things but all we needed was a bed to sleep on and a shower...... Our bed was broken, had to sleep the first night on the floor.... they said there was no one to mend it and no spare rooms...... and the loo leaked all over the bathroom floor, again no one to mend it .....we had to use the kids bathroom next door. We've been to Bulgaria and experienced the food and hospitality of the country in the passed.....what they serve at the Breza is not Bulgarian fare.... ...

That said we did stay all week... Zac's Bar in the hotel is great, the pool table a magnet for the young and not so young.....the skiing is fantastic...instructors excellent.....After the first night we had a great time and are planning to go back for Christmas...but we'll be staying at another hotel. Hope you have a great time.
