Anyone have any knowlage of the Hotel Edelweiss in Borovets? I've been offered an incredibly cheap deal. Is it cheap and chearfull or one to be avoided at any price?
I am staying either there or at the Bor on 22nd, I have heard that the Edelweiss is a bit of a building site, I am checking with my tour operator at the moment to find out WTF is the deal !
The Edelweiss is a bit outside in the old centre of Borovez in the neighbarhood of the Bor, it is clean and basic, never stayed there a long time, a small bar and good to eat out in the Tschutschuliga at the other side of the road, with great food and unbelievable cheap. A beer is 1,20 lev and a hq wine 12 lev.
Just got back from the Bor & friends stayed at Edelweiss. They are about 150m apart and a good 20 minute walk uphill into the main centre of town. Both very similar - older style hotel with parts which have been refurbished.Clean, tidy, both got bars. Food not bad at all, good choice, mostly hot but not a gourmet experience. My 2 children enjoyed it a lot and we always took a horse taxi up to ski in the morning which cost 10 lev (£4). The walk back down at the end of the day always seemed fine ...
