Hotel Ela

Going to Borovets in February. I've been before in 1998 and stayed in the Rila. I understand the Rila and other hotels have been refurbished since then.

This time we're staying in the Hotel Ela. Any views on this hotel?

Also how has Borovets changed since 1998, as well as the Black Tiger (?) and White Magic bars, I seem to remember a bar with a tree in the middle and a small bar opposite the Rila owned by Pete and Josh, wonder if they are still there.

dylan been the last two years so i cant comment on how much it has changed, but the two bars you mentioned are still there.we are there early febuary dancing on the tables in the happy duck top bar

use the search facility and put in hotel ela, loads of previous comments on the hotel. stayed there a couple of years ago, its fine, nice little independantly run cocktail bar as well, and just down from the gondola

Stayed there last year. Rooms clean and comfortable, reasonable breakfast, mediocre evening meal, great little lobby bar, wonderful happy hour (lasted about 4 hrs, 241 cocktails!!). About 100 yds from the gondola.

I echo Tim's comments, plus note that the Rossignol shop below Ela does very good hire equipment, and at a reasonable price too.

going back for third year very good hotel lots of hot, water, very clean, good bar, very friendly also close to gondola but a good 2min walk to bars and shops

Hey Dylan,

the Ela is fully refurbished into the last two years. New heating systems, glass lobby, in the basement a little fitness studio and two sauna cabines for a small money. Fine Lobby Bar runed by some fine guys. Great choice.

Have a fantastic time there.
