Hotel Elina

Hi all.
We are staying at the Hotel Elina in Pamps.
Can someone in the know let me know where it is situated as regards the town, the slopes etc.
Need to know how much walking, taxi's etc.
Also, is there a site with a comprehensive guide as to the best things to take, clothes wise, money etc.
Thanks for any help.

re: Hotel Elina

Right not sure about the Elina hopefully someone else can help you with that.

Clothes wise I take it this is your first ski trip? If so do not rush out and spend £100s on ski gear. Good cheap stuff can be got from the likes of Tkmax, Aldi,Trespass ebay etc. Key is layers when on the mountain thin base such s a thermal top if you feel the cold then a fleece/jumper then your jacket. If you really feel the cold perhaps even thermal trousers, but I have never needed them. Pamps is not that ...

The money question. Well I now change before I go Barclays are doing a rate of around 2.7 lev to the £, but if you want to take sterling with you and change when you arrive then that is fine. Just make sure you have no scottish notes and all you cash is new no rips or writing on and only chnage at the bank or your hotel reception. DO NOT change at any boothes that you may see as you will be ripped off.

Any other questions fire away. Very Happy

re: Hotel Elina

Elina hotel is on the side from the town and slopes (if I remeber correctly abouit 1 km). If go you by the road it is rather far from the town, my friend used path through the forest, but there may be a lot of snow or mud (if the weather is warm) - it is about 15 minutes of walk. To get to/from the ski center you may use a shuttle bus of the hotel.

re: Hotel Elina

Have a look at this :
http://www.bulgariandreams.co.uk/property/cedarheights3_pamporovo/pictures/ch_map2_lg.jpg

My mate has bought an appartment in the Cedar Heights complex which is marked.
If you drop vertically down from this you will see first the Panorama Hotel beside the new complex, then down a bit the Ministry of Defence Holiday home, then just below it the Hotel Elina.

I'll be in the Elina from the 22nd Jan (Appartment isn't finished yet!).

Anto.

re: Hotel Elina

Here's another site which is a little clearer:

http://get.info.bg/visit/Dir.asp?d=0-11-Maps_Collection-Map_of_Pamporovo_ski

This second map is more like the ordenance survey maps we would be familiar with - but looks upside down compared to the rest of the "drawings" as the peak of the mountain is actually to the south of the village.
