Just to let you know that i came home from Borovets the other week and stayed at the Hotel Iglika whilst i was there.
The hotel is quite basic but its all you need, breakfast is ok and you can get by with something to eat in the evening but to be honest there are so many restaurants / bars, and your on your holidays to try a different one every night!!
BUT!! About 3 days into our holiday our room key snapped in the lock to our room, it was a little bent when we got it but we were just ...

BUT!! About 3 days into our holiday our room key snapped in the lock to our room, it was a little bent when we got it but we were just careful. We informed the reception staff and they replaced it very quickly. Then i day later they would not give us our room key back after a days skiing as they insisted we paid a 5 Lev charge. I know this is only £2 but they were very abrupt and patronising when we said we did not think we should have to pay this. They gave us the key back after a few words without having to pay the charge. We spoke to our inghams rep who said not to pay this. Then they tried it again a day later, a different receptionist! And it was then we spoke to another guest who told us he knew of a few others this had happened to.
I accept that if it was in my pocket skking and i broke it i would pay no question but it was the mentality of the staff who were quite rude as i am sure they would have tried to get us to pay if a light bulb went!!!
Anyway we consulted the Rep again (TODOR who is v v v nice!!) and did not pay, and checked out. But when the other couple we were with checked out after us the staff told them to tell us we had still to pay!
I know its rather a long story but i do not think that we should not have to pay for this and i think they are trying it on with quite a few guests. Yes its only £2 but its the way they accussed you at recpetion and were v rude!
I am not usually a moaner but this really annoyed me! Other than this hiccup the holiday was 5*!! Would reccomend to anyone!! Have fun
We also stayed at the Iglika in Jan and found some of the reception staff to be far from friendly/helpful.
Prior to our stay we were told glowing reports about the hotel/and staff, we were dissapointed at the end of the holiday and will not be returning.
Hi, contrary to some of the reports, we have stayed at the iglika for the past 2 years and have never had any problems and always found the staff polite and helpful, and we and 11 others have already booked to go back in feb 2007, sorry to hear you did not find the same.
