Hotel Lion Borovets

I've posted before now re this so sorry if I'm boring everyone, has anyone actually stayed in Hotel Lion Borovets yet and can comment on facilities standards etc this is my first time in Bulgaria and I'm concerned that a 4 star will be my idea of a 4 star

Don't know anything about the hotel Lion but what I can say is that if you go to Bulgaria expecting the Ritz you will be disappointed but if you go in fear of it being like a slum then you will be pleasantly suprised.

In other words go with an open mind but don't expect too much and I'm sure you'll have a great time (just like 99% of the posters on this site!).

I came back from Borovets yesterday having had a great time - although we didn't stay in the lion met some who did who weren't that impressed - we stayed at samokov and although basic it was clean / warm and had plenty of hot water - food isn't as bad as people make out and locals are v friendly! I'm sure you will have a good time.
