Hotel Lion proximity to lifts etc

Do any of you guys know if hotel Lion is walkable to lifts/bars. What kind of distance are we talking?
I've stayed at Iglika, Flora & Samokov and all good access to amenities.

Also why is it still rocky on some of the runs despite the recent dump and quoted snow depths?

Hi Fez
Lion is about 20 minute uphill walk to Gondola/Samokov hotel. The Lion is a little out of "town" you wouldn't want to walk it with your skis/boots etc but i find it a pleasant walk to the main drag in the mornings - gets my muscles warmed up!! They also operate a shuttle bus.
I'll leave the snow and rock question to someone else

It's still rocky because there has been no snow (ie: real base) all season and as such the 'new snow' that fell yesterday had to be compacted (pisted) which means 40cm automatically becomes more like 10 cm...

Stayed at Lion twice, love it, somehow like it being out of town and quiet. Shuttle runs about every 20 mins each way until about 6pm, only takes a couple of minutes to the Samokov hotel drop-off point. Gondola is there, also a short walk then up to the Rila hotel where more ski lifts run from. Plenty of restaurants and bars as you go up this way.

Think from memory the taxi drivers charge about 10lev each way if you want to go up in the evening, seems quite pricey when you think about ...
