The Hotel Olymp is I can imagine probably the worst in Borovets!
The carpets are stained and filthy, the beds are old and uncomfortable, the showers are cold, and the rooms stink of old frying pans. If you can work out what the food is then by all means eat it but I certainly couldnt. The hotel is located at the top of a substantial hill and unless you are super fit and enthusiastic then you will need to get a taxi back to it after a hard nights

I dont think this hotel has ever refurbished since the 50's. Without pointing fingers, during our visit three mobile phones went missing. One from the hotel nightclub, one from a room, and one from the slope were they do the ski show (but that was a couple of us getting too big for our ski's) aswell as our return plane tickets from a room. The receptionists response to this was simply 'thats impossible', and their was never a 'Balkan Holidays' rep available at the hotel. I did see a lot of Inghams reps though.
However it is Bulgaria and not Las Vegas. The hotel is however generally warm and 1.5 levs for a pint in the snack bar cannot be grumbled with. There is a nightclub in the hotel (although generally unnocupied apart from the hotel staff) which is open till four, a 'cocktail bar', and a snack bar. The snack bar is an excellent place to chill after a days skiing before heading off for a night on the.
Massages, Saunas and a Hydrojet, are all available at extra cost to relieve those aches and pains picked up during the day. Their is also a swimming pool which is free of charge, though this is colder than the showers.
To Summarise this hotel was adequate for my party which was 11 mid twenty males. We got in from skiing, got changed, pint in the snack bar, and out again to a restaraunt and bars in town till 4/5 o clock, and out again skiing for 10.00. If I was to return to Borovets which I certainly hope too, there is no way I would stay at the Olymp. The Hotel Rila or Samokov are much better options and although I can imagine they may cost a bit more, it would be well worth it.
Please Please Please dont let this put you off Borovets as a whole. It is a fantastic place and we all had an amazing time on the slopes and apres ski. I just feel it my duty to be truthful about the Hotel Olymp. If you can change hotels my advice is to change.
