stayed there xmas 2 yrs ago and it was fab. the little bar kept us all up till 4am and luckily all our skiskool compatriots were inthe same hotel so it was hard not to party all the time. .the swimming pool is a bit small but enough for a few laps after skiing to relax the muscles. the food is edible, but i find its much the same in all the hotels and u can take it or leave it. its about a 10 min walk to the center but the taxis are cheap or u can take a passing horse and cart for the same ...
stayed there xmas 2 yrs ago and it was fab. the little bar kept us all up till 4am and luckily all our skiskool compatriots were inthe same hotel so it was hard not to party all the time. .the swimming pool is a bit small but enough for a few laps after skiing to relax the muscles. the food is edible, but i find its much the same in all the hotels and u can take it or leave it. its about a 10 min walk to the center but the taxis are cheap or u can take a passing horse and cart for the same price! adds to the atmosphere. there was a lot for the kids to do as there is games room and sports hall for football. so no one complained of boredom. there was a foc ski bus to get us there and back in the am and pm. all in all id recommend it but for something really close, choose the rila which is right there on the slopes and your swimming pool looks out onto that. my friend stayed there with her family this xmas and also had fab time. borovets is lovely. anywhere is nice.
Just got back from there Bambie. Er, how do I put this kindly. Well, it's seen better days that's for sure and can best be described as basic. But it is one of the cheapest. The main problem though is that it is a good ten minutes walk up the hill to get to or slightly less if you walk up the piste by the button lift. Either way its a mish especially at 5am when Buzz Bar closes. The other problem is if your ski/snowboard hire is at the bottom of the chair lift in front of the Rila Hotel. If ...

Either way its a mish especially at 5am when Buzz Bar closes. The other problem is if your ski/snowboard hire is at the bottom of the chair lift in front of the Rila Hotel. If this is the case Olymp will store your gear for a very small charge and you can then get the button lift back to the Olymp.
After a couple of days most people (except Bulgarians) give up on the hotel food and eat cheaply in town.
We still had a good time and the skiing/boarding and nightlife more than made up for the Olymp.
