Anyone just back from this hotel? I've a couple of questions:Is it finished yet?;-)
How far from the gondola? Or is there a local skibus to the slopes? Or what?
How far to decent Mehanas - food sounds about par for bg hotels!

our bus dropped a family of at this hotel, looked finished and there were no complaints. shuttle busses run to gondola every twenty mins or so. hotel food "comfort food" but ok. eating out was supposed to be better but dont get lost in the streets they all look the same at night!re: Hotel Orphey, Bansko

I got back from the Hotel Orphey on the 5th February. Its not completely finished, but virtually done, there was any bar as such when we left or a sauna or games room. The shops were just opening. The food isnt great, but neither is it in any of the Hotels or even restaurants in Bansko unless you like it slightly undercooked and cold!!!
I still had an amazing time though in Bansko and am looking to go back in the Easter Holz, so it couldnt have been that bad!!!

Like i said before its mainly just the little things that arent finished, 1 staircase is shut, no skirting boards in any rooms, one room didnt have any curtains, no mirrors in actually bedroom, no shower curtains, you know, just little things like that.
Any more questions just fire away.

P.S. There isnt any safes in the hotel and we had £400 quid stolen from one of our rooms on the last day and £250 stole from another room throughout the week, so be VERY VERY VERY careful with your money

My family and i got back from Hotel Orphey on the 12th of feb.
Hotel is just about finished,steam room open and night bar is open 24 hrs if you can handle it.
You can walk to the gondola,which will take you about 25 mins or you can get the free shuttle bus which leaves the hotel every 30 mins.
Restaurants are only 15mins walk from hotel.
If you eat at the hotel get there early as what you see is what you get!
Be warned though as all the food is cold.
