Bulgaria Ski discussion board

stayed there two years ago, thought it was great. Had to have an electric heater on in the room though as it was cold (radiator in our room broken) but apart from that it was ok. It has a lovely lobby area with a huge fire in it which attracts people when they get back from skiing and makes it more sociable than other hotels I have stayed in. Yes the ski bus is at the end of the pick ups but we never had to stand and always got there. at the end of the day it is only a five min ride to the slopes so standing is no problem, coming back it was usually only half full. only a couple of mins walk into the centre of things if you want the night life etc.

I stayed there in March this year and it was a mixed experience. IMHO the best thing about the hotel is the spa facilities. The worst is the evening food (but that seems to be true of many Bulgarian hotels).
How full the ski bus is depends on what time you try to catch it. Unsurprisingly the later buses are busier.
We had no problem walking to the resort centre in the evening due to lack of snow! It took us more than a couple of minutes and we're reasonably fit, but no more than 10.
All in all I wouldn't panic. The hotel's not horrific, just not quite the 5 star experience you might be expecting!

Leckie.....stayed there in Jan (this year) and had no problems what so ever, you will always read mixed reviews as so many people have their own high or low expectaions on standards, I went to this hotel fearing the worst and left a very happy punter, I hope you leave as happy as we did on our first and most definatley not our last visit to Pamps.
Im not staying there this season but only because I intend to try all the other hotels in the resort over the years to come, but I re-visit the hotel to have a few beers !!
