Hotel Samokov Borovets

I`m staying at the Hotel Samokov at the end of Feb and want to take my own skis and boots. Does anyone know if you are allowed to take them through the hotel and keep them in my room, or do i need to pay for and keep them in a locker somewhere?

As long as you don't wear your boots in the hotel they are fine with you carrying them through but to be honest pop down to the boot room and have a word with Nick behind the counter, we have left ours there for the last 4 years without issue, once even left them when we came home and went back the next month. The boot room has always been safe for us and its warm. As we had ski school we didn't have to pay for storage

it all depends if your skis are personal to you and cost alot of money.
i stayed at the samokov two years ago and took my skis to the room.its whether you value your skis,
my skis cost me alot of money and if anybody knows there skis there would have had them through the door,no questions asked.
do you want to take the risk?

Left our boots in their ski depot between visits last year and left skis boots helmets and goggles when there in December, saves carting them back n forth. Nik and his team in the depot are great guys, nothing is too much trouble

My skis and boots are very personal and expensive to me and I have always stored them with the hire people. Usually tip them a bit and have never had a problem in 15+ visits.

There is a great bar, The White Magic, dead opposite the hotel samokov. If you need any local advice when you get to resort go and have a beer with Christo, Janet and Lora. Christo is an ex olympic skier and one of the nicest people you could meet.

Its a great little pub, yeah, but what does this have to do with the samokov, or the thread?
You may come across as advertising if your not carefull!

Thanks very much for all the advice. Will pop into the boot room and ask for Nick as would be much easier and a lot less hassle everyday! Do you have to Que every day to get them?

If you have a chat with Nik at the beginning of your week and bung him a few lev he will definately recognise you throughout the week and have you skis with you promtly, he has always been great with us and if you miss the 9.15 - 10.00 am rush you won't have any problems with queues.

Was there last year and used the ski depot for my own skis no problem.
