We have just been told by Crystal that the Perelik Hotel has been downgraded from a 4 to 3 star. Does anyone have any advise on what we should now be entitled to, either through compensation or upgrade? Thanks F
We stay there every year and although the food is not great, its worth it for location. It is very central, you can walk through to Murgavets and there are plenty of places to eat out in the evening and food is cheap.
If you look at the older messages it was Annie and her party that got E40 each from Crystal because they had Perelik in as 4 star.
Its under "Help hotel overbooked" and this will also give you a theme of the alternative hotels
Again if I was you I'd stick with the Perelik - but I am very Biased and no unfortunately I'm not on commission The atmsophere of the hotel is good enough for me
Thats really useful info....I will speak to Crystal later to find out if we qualify for any dosh!
It sounds as though the hotel is in a great location.....would you say it should be 3 or 4 star? Fleur xx
Make sure you get what you can from the Tour Operator!
Tell them you want moved to a 4* hotel and failing that then look in their brochure and find out what the average difference is between 3* and 4* and demand a refund.
I am sure there are rules about false advertising.
Perelik has not been downgraded. It has always been a 3* hotel, or at least it has been for the past 15 years. Must have been an error in their description.
Hi, Just spoke to Crystal....they have said that in their opinion it is classified as a 4C =4 star. They also said that their rating has not changed, just that of the Bulgarian Tourist Board...sounds like a load of crystal waffle to me. They are going to confirm alternatives on Monday, but have suggested that we could transfer to the Pamporovo Hotel for the extra charge...cheek! I think they can stick that right up their gondola!
