Hotels in Borovets

Does anyone know whether there is any accomodation outside the Borovets resort that is not walking distance i.e more than 25 mins walk and that is often used by Thomas Cook. Its just I'm doing an 'allocated on arrival' in Borovets with Thomas Cook and are a bit worried that I could be put in the back of beyond and have to spend loads of money getting to the resort centre. I certainly didn't see any hotels miles away from Borovets it seems a very close together resort, best thing to do is get the thomas cook brochure and see which hotels they use then you could get a pretty good idea. If you are lucky you'll get the Rila right in the middle of the resort.

re: Hotels in Borovets

There are no hotels miles from borovets, the only one about a ten minute walk is the royal or the malina village, and the olymp is in borovets but up a hill which is quite a walk if you have had a few to drink. A cab will cost about £1.50 or you can ski to the door from the four man chair lift.

re: Hotels in Borovets

I think you will find all Hotels in Bovorets are within a 10 min walk of the centre, it tends to be very self contained. We were there in the summer and had a good look around (just bought a house 20 km from Bovorets)
Have a great time

re: Hotels in Borovets

Worry ye not Exclamation Even the Yagoda and Malina Village which are a little out of town (not walkable in my opinion) only cost 10 lev to get to by taxi. The Royal Hotel is located there as well and is very posh Exclamation

Looked in Neilsen Brochure and they only feature in town hotels - so you'll have to wait and see Exclamation

Hope this helps

I reckon you'll be in the Yastrebets hotel. I stayed there 4 years ago. We had to get off the bus and go by car as the bus can't get up the hill. It's too far to walk, so you'll need a taxi. Hotel itself is pretty bad. It has it's own nightclub though !!! Good luck !

Hey Comps,

you see they are a lot of hotels out of "town" in Borovez. The Malina,Jagoda and Poljana villages and the Hotel Royal are around 3 km away from the centre of Borovez and you need more as 10 minutes walking to the centre, also the Yastrebez Hotel is around 3km away from the centre, but much higher so you have to walk 300heightmeters also. Then are the hotels Viktoria, Bor, Edelweiss nearby the centre between 500 and 1000m. Farer away from the centre are the hotels Elitza, Kalina ...

re: Hotels in Borovets

Just got back on Saturday - stayed at Malina Village and they have a ski bus which you can catch at Yagoda Village which is just over the road and it runs pretty regularly and drops you off at the Samokov Hotel which is in the middle of town.

Another handy tip, the Royal Borovets Hotel has a ski bus that runs until 11.00pm and there was never anybody using it - we had an understanding with the driver to drop us off at Yagoda Village for 5 lev per couple.
