Its a bit early, 8 weeks before I go snowboarding, but Im excited!!How cold will it be in Pamps? And when I say this Im meaning how cold when you put on a standard ski jacket & salopettes? Will it be tshirt & shorts or tshirt & jumper, trousers and long johns??
Never been anywhere that cold before...

Do you feel the cold? It is strictly long jons and tee shirt for me (under ski jacket and ski jeans), any more and I steam like a race horse (nice)! My girlfriend wears thermals, jumper and fleece! Take decent gloves and make sure they are dried-out over night. Use tubes not socksI’m afraid its suck it and see.
If you get caught-out, clothes are cheaper there than here.

Dont know how cold it will be, but the only time you are cold is when you are on an open chair lift. The actual boarding makes you hot and sweaty quite quickly.Shorts and a couple thin baselayers were fine for me, so long as jacket and trousers are reasonable quality.

think i'll go for LJs and Ts then as Im usually ok in the cold if Im zipped up. Only my hands feel the cold. I wanna be unrestricted so I can practice my ollies, 180s and 360s

I've been skiing to Pamps twice now. Not very good, but I enjoy it. Not tried boarding yet, but have been tempted.I also water ski - badly - and tried wake boarding for the 1st time this year - IT IS SO EASY PEASY and makes it MUCH more enjoyable.
Your comment on ollies - that jump off the water (then usually nose dive into the lake!) brought it back to me. Got to try boarding on snow this year. Will I ever go back to skiis though?

... BTW. 1st year I was too hot in T-shirt and LJs. Sitting out in the sun and the snow at lunch time with nothing but T shirt on top - glorious. It tended to get a bit nippy after half an hour or so.Last year was colder. Still T-shirt and LJ's, but kept well wrapped up. I did take a thermal top with me and wore it once, but had to take it off. Spent the rest of the time in my pigeon hole with my walking boots.

Not been skiing for a few years so am not an expert but I always used to, and will this time, take a small rucksack.
You can then wear an extra layer or two and take off if required, also if the weather changes or you go onto a more shady or windier piste, you can put an extra layer on.
Try not to wear too much cotton next to your skin, the technical stuff that 'wicks' moisture away from the body sounds a load of mumbo jumbo but it does work. Cotton absorbs a lot of moisture which then ...

My friends got quite wet snowboarding last year due to falling on their bottoms for much of the week, rucksack with spare clothes sounds very sensible.
