I'll have the opportunity to ski a little in Bansko in January. It's my fist time there, and the first time in Bulgaria as well.
So far I skied only in Austria (Ski Welt area) and I can tackle most blue runs without major difficulty, but wouldn't go near red ones.
Will I have a lot of choices in Bansko I wonder... I noticed there are only 3 blue runs.
Any idea how those 3 compare with the average blue run in Austria? i.e. about the same, easier, harder?
There are more than 3 blue runs, the mountain can in theory be descended from the very top on blues.... in saying that the blue graded runs here could be considered a little more technical than blues in other countries. It would be a case of working up to it, the biggest advantage is our ski road, 7km of blue/green standard piste that will allow you to build on your skills and confidence..
Thanks for the information and encouragement.
If the blues are a little tougher, then the reds will probably look downright scarry )
Worst case scenario I have the ski road you mention to play with for 3 days
