How do the forecasts differ so greatly

The skiclub forecast has got 9cm due for friday in boro yet snow-forecast.com has 3cm

Cos they all use historical data and have a 'guess' whats going on !!

SF last night told me there was going to be 12cm of rain at the bottom station in Boro on Fri, this morning its now 4cm!

They can only forecast accurately for 48 hours or if the weather was likely to hit a huge area (e.g the whole country like it was a couple of weeks ago.)

No point looking at it if you've already booked up too, although that hasn't stopped me looking everyday

oh and they use there own forecasting methods. Its like Asda and Tesco, they do things differently but sell the same things

Its getting a bloody obsession with me. Everytime I'm near the pc I have to switch it on and look at the forecast

Never belive j2ski, they're forever optimistic....

I just look at the webcams, far better imo for giving an impression of the snow conditions than forecasting because forecasting itself isn't that accurate and trying to predicate mountain weather usually suspectible rapid extreme changes leads to more inaccuracy.
