...is it that I'm going to be injured on my holiday to Borovets in March. It'll be my first ever ski/snow holiday, and I've taken the decision to learn to board instead of ski. Been doing it on dry slopes a few weeks now and starting to get a good hang of it! Although yet to advance onto the larger slopes, got a lot more practice to go yet though.

Don't worry about it Rob.....what will be..will be! The necessary protective wear are wrist supports( either built into gloves or seperate items)and an helmet. Maybe knee/ arse protectors while learning as you'll spend a lot of time on both...when you least suspect it. Apart from that just enjoy yourself !
haha cheers! Got the wrist supports as that was strongly advised to me! Going for a helmet this weekend, and after a couple of times on my knees on the dry slope this last weekend, deffinetly considering the knee supports too. Just getting to worrying as I'm getting a bit quicker it's starting to hurt more when I go down! lol, I think the main aim will be to try stay upright thus greatley reducing my chances of injury! Of course as a boarder whose aim is to be 'free' on the mountain you will be advised to wear armour? Chest, shoulder, arm, wrist, lower back, chest, upper leg, lower leg, and of course full face helmet, not forgetting neck brace.
Now you will be able to enjoy your new sport, as well as american football, bull riding, freestyle stunting through fire etc etc hehehe
Even if you think you're not likely to get injured (I've never had an injury in more than 20 years skiing) make sure you have proper travel insurance. Your skiing/boarding might be fine but some lunatic could still take you out and injure you.
