How much money should I bring??

Howdy chaps and chapettes,

How much would you guys recommend I should bring for a week's skiing in Pamps (Perelik Hotel) for basic daytime eats/drinks/living and for evening's eating, boozing and general fun?

Our ski gear/lessons/passes and all that is included in what we've paid already, and we're also half board, but I've heard horror stories about the food in Perelik, so suppose will be eating out most of the time!

Thanks as always, great site here and really, really helpful so ...

re: How much money should I bring??

It is cheap enought to eat and drink, the food in the white hart is fantastic and def aimed at uk skiiers. If you drink lager then that is quite reasonable about £1 pint, expect to pay about £3 - 5 for a decent meal at the WH. If you like named brand spirits then these are at least UK prices with some even higher - aftershock etc etc, three of us (2A 1C) feb just gone spend about £600 but this was having a small meal at lunchtime then another feast with friends late in the evening. Within that we played a spirit based drinking game most nights - but hey we were on holiday.

re: How much money should I bring??

All depends on how much you drink??!! As you are half board you don't need to worry about grub in the evening but I would urge you to get out and try some it is much better in the Restaurant's then the hotel's. As Mark has said the Whitehart is good if not traditional. I would try the BBQ place at the Mourgavets good grub 3 course's + a couple of beers for around £12 per head.

£600 per couple should see you ok for a week. Booze

re: How much money should I bring??

I normally spend 150-200 pounds in a week. That includes eating out at lunch and dinner and drinking mainly lager.

You could do it much cheaper than this if you ate the hotel food.

Perelik food was fine last season, not 5 star but was fine.
Try it for yourself and make your own mind up

Very Happy

Would not rely on credit card only in Bulgaria Hampie.

re: How much money should I bring??

£200 per person per week should be enough and you will probably come back with money depending how much you drinkI M & S rate is pretty good at mo. 2.74 to the pound - I got mine last night ready for Christmas and New Year....

re: How much money should I bring??

Dont rely on credit card and definately dont take travellers cheques as you will get ripped for commision.
Stirling or euros are best and you will get anything between 2.75 and 2.90 at most hotels and even shops will exchange. Last two years we spent (2A+1C) about £400 -£600 and ate and drank like kings, also ski wear and equipment is great value as is snide clothing in the mall between Mourgavets and Perelik. would recommend the Folk evening BBQ. Enjoy Very Happy Cool Booze Booze Booze
