Hi
Off to bansko inthe next couple of weeks on a Self Catering Ski Package... There are five of us going ..my partner and I and our 3 boys...
Now I have heard that holidaying in Bansko is a fairly cheap affair and was wondering on how much money we should take out with us bearing in mind we need to purchase food and drinks for a week's stay... Do you think we should do OK taking about £500 ??? Any help on this would be really appreciated ie how much a beer/coke costs and the average price for a meal etc etc..
One other thing.... I popped into Marks & Spencers yesterday and they are offering an exchange rate of 2.7 levs to the £ which I didn't think was too bad .... is it worth me changing all my currency into levs or taking just a few levs and exchanging the rest when we get to Bansko?
Paul the M & S rate is good but I would not change all your currency here as if you have to bring some back you will lose out. Change a couple hundred say and take sterling with you.
I reckon £500 is ample, you will probably have some change, just take your bank card in case you do run out....
the banks offer good rates over there also, I am getting all my money before I go from M $ S, and a hotel safe.
I 'only' took £200 spending last year (for 1 week) and still came back with change. It also included buying some equipment and partaking in quite a lot of apres ski!!
ensure you have a chocolate and banana pancake in the kiosk on the main road - divine!!!! you will still be able to remember the taste weeks later, I can....
